Welcome to the AHA
The Assocation for Helicopter Aerosports (AHA) is the specialist body within the British Model Flying Association (BMFA) representing all Radio Control Helicopter disciplines and pilots.
The AHA is responsible for organising the FAI (F3C, F3N and Sportsmans) and Scale Helicopter Nationals in England. As the specialist body for model helicopters within the BMFA we are also responsible for providing technical support on all matters of helicopter operation and safety.
The AHA works tirelessly with the BMFA to ensure that the UK helicopter fliers are represented and have a voice. Although we are largely viewed as a competition biased association we do organise and run events that are open to all pilots. At our AGM it was decided by our members that the AHA acronym would be changed to stand for the Association for Helicopter Aerosports as from 1st of January 2010. This change was to better reflect the work that we do not just for aerobatic and competition pilots but for all model helicopter fliers.
Membership of the AHA is, as always, open to all and we are an afiliated body of the BMFA therefore membership of the BMFA is required.
The 2010 European F3C Championships
THe UK F3C TEam are now out at the Championships and are looking forward to another good battle to decide the 2010 European Champions. Two of our pilots will be blogging daily to keep everyone up-to-date on, not only their progress but, the Championships in general. You can link to Mark Christy's blog on AllMYRC here, while Steve Roberts blogs can be found on RunRyder here and RC Heli Addicts here Plus Bruce Naylor (our UK F3C Judge) will also be reporting regularly in our news section here to give his account from the judges point of view.
I'm sure you would like to join me in wishing them all the very best of British luck and please feel free to leave your support messages on the forums. Last Euros they came back with a Bronze medal, can they improve on that this year? Watch this space!!!!!
